Our research at the Placenta Lab focuses on improving care for mothers and babies by gaining a better understanding of how the placenta functions. We study how complications during pregnancy arise and how we can better treat or prevent them in the future. As a patient at Erasmus MC, you can contribute to this important research by donating your placenta after childbirth. The placenta is normally considered medical waste and would otherwise be discarded. By making your placenta available, you help us improve the health of future mothers and babies. Your contribution makes a big difference!
